What the English section publishes

The articles under /en/ report what Steam users wrote in their reviews of a game, counted and compared. Every figure is computed from reviews retrieved through Steam's public review listing. The reviews are sorted by a language model into a fixed set of topics; the counting itself is done in ordinary code. Each article states the period it covers, how many reviews it is based on, and the limits of the method.

The language a review is written in does not establish where its author lives, and people who write reviews are not a representative sample of everyone who plays a game. The articles are written accordingly.

Quotations

An article quotes at most three short passages from reviews, each with an English translation, as evidence for the counts around them. No reviewer's name, profile or account is shown or stored.

Corrections and removal requests

If you are a rights holder, or the author of a quoted review, and you want a quotation, an article or any other material removed or corrected, write to 648news.mail@gmail.com. Please name the page and the passage. Such requests are acted on promptly, and material is removed while a request is being looked into.
